Tender Mercies Bakery and Cafe Emsdale

Tender Mercies is located in the Almaguin Highlands north of Huntsville, Muskoka.  The Almaguin Highlands covers a large area east of Parry Sound and south of North Bay.  Visit the small town of Emsdale located near Novar and on your way to Kearney and enjoy home baking and home cooking.  This restaurant and bakery is doing well and draws in a lot of locals with the hopes of more tourists discovering them.  In the little town of Kearney we have a bistro in town, corner chip stand, four restaurants on Sand Lake and now a cafe restaurant in Emsdale. 
Tender Mercies is open Monday to Wednesday from 6am - 2pm, Thursday and Friday from 6am - 6pm and on Saturday from 6am -3pm.  To confirm they are open please contact Janice Marshall and Cindy Hall at 705-636-9119.  The store is still new and based on demand store hours could change.  They offer an amazing breakfast and brunch and the baked goods are amazing.

Renee's Cafe South River, Almaguin Highlands, ON

Another great place to eat in the Almaguin Highlands is Renee's Cafe. They offer great meals and really great coffee. This restaurant in the Almaguin Highlands is located in South River only 1/2 hour drive to Huntsville, Muskoka.
Renee's Cafe is open all year from September - June but closed on Sunday and Monday. During July and August they are open every day. They offer live music in a relaxed and intimate setting to include Jazz, Blues, Folk, Country and Latin.

Seguin Cruises with Lunch or Dinner in the Fall




I had my mom visit from Newfoundland and we decided to take a boat cruise. I looked in the Huntsville Weekender and discovered a great deal. I have attached a few pictures. The day that we went it was raining but we still had an amazing time. The meal was great and the atmosphere was breathtaking.

Kearney's Bistro in the Almaguin Highlands
